Individual Therapy
“Nobody can go back and make a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending”
Marta Robinson
Therapy provides a safe, non- judgmental and confidential space in which you are free to express yourself. We can explore whatever you are finding challenging, in a supportive and nurturing environment.
You might be experiencing relationship or work problems, struggling with feelings of anger, anxiousness, or grief, or have suffered trauma or abuse. Or you may even be curious about how your inner world affects your daily life and decision making and want to explore your deepest feelings and thoughts alongside another.
I aim to facilitate your understanding of how your past may have had an emotional impact on your development and may still affect your present-day life. This insight can provide relief and contribute to personal growth and fulfilment.
My way of working is broadly psychodynamic and relational. This means I work to create a boundaried therapeutic relationship with my clients, in which we can explore any emotional and social difficulties, from the past and nowadays. I may incorporate other modalities including Compassion Focussed Therapy which aims to help those who struggle with shame and high levels of self-criticism.
The issues I work with;
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Relationship issues
- Struggle to find an intimate relationship
- Self-esteem issues
- Career, work-related stress and life purpose
- Codependency
- Communication difficulties
- Conflict Management
- Transitions in relationships – common law, separation and divorce
- Processing your childhood
- Grief and loss
- Trauma
Individual MANTRA
"Relationships to food mirror other disconnections in life"
Margo Maine
MANTRA is an integrative treatment for adults with anorexia (or atypical anorexia) devised by the expertise of the Maudsley Hospital and recommended by NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence). It aims to explore the underlying factors that may have built up and triggered the anorexia, examines why the patient is locked into the cycle of anorexia and also helps the patient create their own goals to change the behaviours.
MANTRA includes elements of CBT, CFT, ACT, CRT, MI ( motivational interviewing), person centred and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
I collaborate with other medical practitioners like GPs, psychiatrists or dieticians in order to prioritise patient safety.
